teCharlotte Samco, the wife of Johnny Crawford, the actor famous for his role on the original Mickey Mouse Club in the 1950’s and his starring role on the Gunslinger television series from 1959 to 1963, died in two separate accidents on Thursday.
That was the year. At age 75, following the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and a recent victory over Covid-19.
Charlotte Samco Relationship
In 1995, actor Johnny Crawford remarried Charlotte Samco, his longtime girlfriend, after having divorced his first wife Cindy. In addition, he had been in a romantic relationship with Charlotte for several years prior to exchanging vows with her in 1995. It turns out, Charlotte was his high school love, who he had dated in his younger days.
They were a high school sweethearts, but split up after some time. However, they reconciled years later and in 1990, they rediscovered their love for each other.
Five years into their relationship, Johnny Crawford and Charlotte Samco became boyfriend and girlfriend. There in front of their families and friends, the two were officially wed during a wedding ceremony.
American actor, musician, and singer Johnny Crawford is recognized most notably for portraying the character Mark McCain in the hit ABC television series, Gunslinger. It followed a farmer who is left to run the farm after his wife dies, with the youngest son reluctantly taking her place.
It ran for five years and garnered a Prime time Emmy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. It’s been reported that he made his first public appearance as one of the Mouseketeers in the Walt Disney cartoon series The Mickey Mouse Club, and that he was born into a family of celebrities.
Besides being an accomplished musician, actor and vocalist, he has performed with the California Vintage Dance Orchestra and had a number of singles recorded throughout his career. Mr. Crawford retired from the entertainment industry in 1999 and hasn’t caused any fuss in his personal life since then.

Hart in Marshall, but in the last 20 years, he has only played one role,The Gunslinger, which aired from 1958-1963, and Little House on the Prairie, Hawaii 50, Mr. Ed, among others.
He had a long and successful career that spanned over 40 years. He had many roles during that time, like of Ben Cartwright in Bonanza, Marshal Dillon in Gunsmoke, Bret Maverick in Bret Maverick and Colonel Sherman Potter on M*A*S*H.
His first leading role was in 1951’s A Place in the Sun. In 1950, he married actress Donna Reed and they have four children together. His son Lance had some success with 1987’s Less Than Zero; daughter Cathy helped with 1994’s Smoke Signals; son John Michael played Kevin Bacon’s brother-in-law in 1986’s Quicksilver; daughter Leslie is an actress who worked on many shows including Walker, Texas Ranger and Seinfeld.

Johnny Crawford’s Death Cause
in 1958, Johnny Crawford, who starred as the son of The Shooter’s actor, Chuck Connors, passed away at the age of 75.

Charlotte Samco Family
After a lot of investigative work we are not able to determine much about the status of Charlotte’s children. Charlotte talked very little about her family with the exception of Johnny.
He survived by his wife, brother, and tens of thousands of fans. She never revealed her married name or said anything about any children she may have had. If she has any living relatives they have been kept out of the spotlight.
We know that she is the youngest daughter of an Italian immigrant who was born in Sicily. Her father was an engineer who graduated from the University of Palermo in Italy.
They moved to Australia after World War II where he found employment as an industrial engineer at BHP Steelworks in Newcastle. In 1957, the year she turned two years old, Charlotte was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma (bone cancer).
The tumor metastasized quickly throughout her body. Doctors told her parents there was no cure for their daughter’s cancer and advised them to seek palliative care while they still could. But they refused to give up on their child without a fight.
