Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a Danish international non-governmental organisation, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world. DRC is present in more than 30 conflict territories around the world assisting displaced people with shelter, food, income-generating activities, and a wide range of other assistance. We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) Protection Officer

Location: Borno

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Counselling, Education, Human Rights, Development Studies or relevant equivalent disciplines.
  • 2 years work experience in a humanitarian organization / with displacement affected populations or significant experience as a DRC Protection social or outreach worker
  • Knowledge of protection norms, principles, and activities.

Desirable:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and writing)
  • Professional fluency in English, Hausa, Kanuri is an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills – self-motivated individuals, able to take initiative and propose solutions, resilient, positive, and able to work independently.
  • Skills and experience in Assessment, delivery, monitoring, review and evaluation, working with refugees or IDPs
  • Good facilitation/training skills; experience designing and delivering training curricula, preferably focused on adult learning;

2.) Finance Officer

Location: Borno

Essential / Requirements

  • Experience working in international Non-Governmental (INGO) with a background in Audit and compliance management is considered as an asset.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in general accounting, finance, and Administration experience is needed
  • Ability to work closely and effectively in a team to achieve work priorities and objectives.
  • Ability to work with ERP-Dynamics will be an appreciated advantage.
  • Enthusiasm as a team player, who is flexible, always ready to take on new challenges and drives for results in a dynamic environment

3.) IT Officer

Location: Borno

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in  Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or relevant equivalent disciplines.
  • 2 years Work experience as an IT/IM support staff.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Knowledge of VSAT and router configuration.
  • Knowledge & experience of dealing with ISPs.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Must have strong reporting and communication skills

Desirable:

  • Work experience with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and/or displaced population is a very strong asset.
  • Microsoft Certifications is a plus.
  • Fluency in local spoken languages

4.) Humanitarian Access and Safety Officer

Location: Borno

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to Humanitarian Work, Security Management, Criminology, Political Science, Communication or related field
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with INGOs/UN, other international agencies
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Stable, moral and robust character and a good team-player
  • Excellent communication skills, calm and a good sense of humour
  • Proven commitment to accountability practices
  • Strong information technology skills.

Desirable:

  • Competent and literate in English, verbal and written, fluent in Hausa with a sound knowledge of technical expressions.
  • Demonstrative experience in INGO/NGO or UN field (operations) with experience of safety and security.
  • Previous services with any of the Nigerian Disciplined forces (Police, Army, Navy, Air force, DSS NSCDC etc) will be a desired advantage.

5.) MEAL Officer

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Science, or relevant equivalent disciplines.
  • 3 years of direct monitoring and evaluation experience related to one or more of these fields: Protection, Emergency NFIs, WASH,
  • Shelter, Food Security, Livelihoods, and/ or Mine Risk Education initiatives.
  • Computer literate.

Desirability:

  • Training in quantitative methodologies, including database management.
  • Strong analytical skills and an understanding of a range of methods for monitoring, evaluation, and assessment to promote evidencebased learning.
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding to design, commission, and manage assessment methodologies and techniques such as focus group discussions, key informant interviews, and observations to name a few.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze data and summarize it for a range of different audiences.
  • Professional fluency in English, Hausa, Higgi, and Marghi is an added advantage.

6.) Humanitarian Mine Action Team Leader

Location: Borno

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Social Science or Tertiary Education in any other relevant field will be a recommendation.
  • Experience and willingness to work in the field in volatile and insecure areas;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in adverse conditions.
  • Demonstrated commitment and strict adherence to confidentiality
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Proficiency in common computer packages i.e. Word, Excel, Power point etc

Key Requirements:

  • Certificate/Accreditation of participation in a Non-Technical Survey Training by recognized INGO.
  • Certificate/Accreditation of participation in a Mine Risk Education (or similar) Training by recognized INGO.
  • At Least 4 years of proven previous experience in Explosive Ordnance Risk Education
  • Ability to manage and analyse sensitive and confidential information
  • Previous experience in conducting interviews and surveys
  • Experience living and working in a cross-cultural, multi-sector team environment especially North East Nigeria
  • Basic knowledge in IM/GIS or experience using software like Kobo collect, survey 123 and/or similar applications
  • Fluency in English and Hausa (and/or Kanuri)
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communicational skills
  • Excellent ability to work in team.

Desirable:

  • At least 01 year of proven previous experience as NTS/EORE Team Leader or minimum 03 years of proven experience as NTS/EORE officer or facilitator.
  • Knowledge of local communities in Borno state Nigeria.
  • Excellent Computer skills.
